Preconception Check<\/h3>\n

      Recurrent Pregnancy Loss<\/h2>\n

      What is recurrent pregnancy loss?<\/i><\/h4>\n

      Recurrent pregnancy or miscarriage is the spontaneous loss of pregnancy and usually occurs in the first months of pregnancy (8th-11th week of pregnancy). The frequency of termination of a pregnancy is about 1 in 5 (20%). <\/span>Terminating three or more consecutive pregnancies is referred to as recurrent pregnancy loss.<\/span><\/p>\n

      Causes of recurrent pregnancy loss include:<\/span><\/p>\n

        \n
      • Genetic factors – chromosomal abnormalities of the parents or the embryo<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Immunologic factors<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Metabolic disorders<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Anatomic abnormalities of the uterus<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
