Ultrasounds

Gynecological ultrasound is a procedure used to monitor the health and condition of certain organs in the female reproductive system (uterus, ovaries, breasts) or to diagnose a pathological condition. To perform a gynecological ultrasound, the medical history and personal data of each woman are taken into account individually. Additionally, ultrasound is a fundamental tool for monitoring a pregnancy.

Dr. Dimitrios Tyrovolas specializes in ultrasound and, combined with his extensive experience abroad, one can fully trust him.

There are various types of ultrasounds, and below are some of them.

1) Abdominal Ultrasound:

1) In this ultrasound, the woman lies on an examination bed, and a transducer is firmly pressed against the abdominal area. Using sound waves, the image can be immediately displayed on a digital screen.

2) Transvaginal Ultrasound:

2) This ultrasound involves the use of a transvaginal transducer, which is inserted into the woman’s vaginal area.

3) Doppler Ultrasound

3) The ultrasound examination of the uterus and its components, along with Doppler, provides the doctor and the woman with a comprehensive image of the reproductive system’s organs. It can thoroughly assess their condition and any pathology.

An ultrasound is performed:

  • For monitoring a pregnancy
  • For annual gynecological check-ups
  • In case of menstrual cycle disorders
  • In case of abnormal bleeding
  • For menstrual irregularities
  • For pelvic pain
  • For infertile couples
