RECURRENT PREGNANCY LOSS
Recurrent pregnancy or miscarriage is the spontaneous loss of pregnancy and usually occurs in the first months of pregnancy (8th-11th week of pregnancy). The frequency of termination of a pregnancy is about 1 in 5 (20%).
Terminating three or more consecutive pregnancies is referred to as recurrent pregnancy loss.
Causes of recurrent pregnancy loss include:
- Genetic factors – chromosomal abnormalities of the parents or the embryo
- Immunologic factors
- Metabolic disorders
- Anatomic abnormalities of the uterus
A few words…
Although there is a wide range of available diagnostic tests, investigating recurrent miscarriages is not always successful, and there is a possibility that the underlying cause may not be found. In recurrent miscarriage, there is an issue with the embryo, as evidenced by its abnormal development. There’s no need to be alarmed; usually, women who experience a miscarriage can have a successful subsequent pregnancy!
Sexual activity and physical exercise are two actions that should not be a concern for causing recurrent miscarriage.

Actions to take when a recurrent miscarriage is identified:

The result depends on both the ultrasound image and the symptoms reported by each woman (e.g., pain, bleeding).
In the latter case, we systematically monitor the woman’s condition!
2) n this situation, we allow nature and the woman’s body to complete the miscarriage. (Spontaneous miscarriage). Possible symptoms include bleeding and pain. The above can be managed with painkillers. In more demanding cases, the woman is closely monitored by her doctor and if necessary, she may undergo surgical intervention!
A recurrent miscarriage usually creates negative emotions for both the woman and the man. Each person needs their own time to recover. Therefore, it is good to address any questions that have arisen regarding the event. It is important not to forget that the chances of a successful subsequent pregnancy are increased.
